VJTI to host nrcfoss node in Mumbai

A meeting was held in Mumbai on the 17th between NRC-FOSS, VJTI management and members of Mumbai FOSS community. VJTI has offered to host the NRC-FOSS node at Mumbai and will supply office space and a lab with 30 machines. Members of the Mumbai FOSS community have agreed to provide the technical expertise and man power to run the node. The node will be coordinated by Professor Jitendra Shah from the VJTI end and Mrugesh Karnik from the FOSS community end. NRC-FOSS thanks the director of VJTI and Professor Shah for their cooperation in this endeavour. We also thank Vihan, Anurag and Pradeepto for volunteering to be part of the core group to promote this node.

The primary purpose of the node would be to faciliate the development and spread of foss code and foss in the region. Specifically to get FOSS introduced in the curriculum of engineering colleges in the state. The node will host meetings, seminars, workshops, installfests, hackfests and the like both in VJTI and in colleges and institutions around the state.
