Maharashtra State Level meeting on FOSS in HRD ...

NRCFOSS and VJTI, Mumbai are jointly organising a 1-day meeting on FOSS in Technical Education in Maharashtra

The National Resource Centre for Free/Open Source Software (NRCFOSS) in association with Veermata Jijabhai Technological Institute (VJTI) , Mumbai,  is organizing a one-day meet  on Thursday, 22nd November 2007 at VJTI, involving senior academicians and decision makers from different universities and institutions in Maharashtra. The tentative program will include the following :

09:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. : HoDs meet

Presentation on FOSS, its relevance in Indian scenario and NRCFOSS activities followed by discussions. The presentations will be include : Prof. C.N. Krishnan, Coordinator, NRCFOSS & Director, AU-KBC Research Centre ; Mr. Kenneth Gonsalves, Consultant, NRCFOSS and Dr. G. Sivakumar, IIT - Mumbai. Participants will be HoDs, Senior faculty and others in Computer Science,  Information Technology and MCA branches in Maharashtra colleges and universities.

1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. :  Vice Chancellors' meet

Presentation on summary of the morning session deliberations ; discussions and drawing up an action plan for introducing FOSS  in engineering curriculum in Maharashtra. Participants spectrum will include Vice-Chancellors, Deans, Directors, Members of BOCDs, etc., from Maharashtra.
