Hardware workshop at Ooty ...
Ooty hardware workshop a resounding successNRC-FOSS along with Nilgiri Information Technology Association conducted a FOSS workshop at Ooty on the 23rd and 24th of August 2008. The faculty comprised of Bharathi Subramaniam, Ravi Jaya and N Padmanathan of ILUGC and Shirish Agarwal of PLUG. About 30 participants from hardware dealerships, cybercafes and small training institutes attended. NRC-FOSS was represented by Kenneth Gonsalves.
The event was a huge success and the faculty drowned under a flood of questions. Only three participants had prior knowledge of linux - for the rest it was like handing out ice-cream to kids - everyone wanted every flavour. A full report is being assembled here
